More on Permissions - What do I need to click to give/ take permission X for a team member?
Permissions in fp. can be set very specifically for each of your staff. In an effort to assist you with adding and removing permissions within fp., we've built the spreadsheets below. We've tried to include the most common (and even the less common) activities we see our clients looking to give and take away from their staff.
There are 2 versions of the same information for your use - The What's Up Doc is an excel spreadsheet, with information divided into 4 columns (explained below). The What's Up Pivot is also in Excel, but displays the same information using pivot tables. Depending on your needs or your familiarity with Excel, you may prefer to use one over the other.
Using the What's Up Doc
You can see that the spreadsheet is divided into easy to follow column headers :
1. The System Area/ Function within the system ie. CRM, Reports etc.
2. How Do I? - made up of the common and not so common items we see clients looking to open up or block from being available to their staff ie. adding a schedule, deleting a contact, accessing Gross Profit report.
3. Permission Group - referring to the permissions area within the ADMIN area of your fp. system.
4. Tick Box Called - referring to the individual items within the various permission groups.
You can scroll through the document to get to the section that you need, or search by keyword(s). Simply type in Ctl + f or Command + f (PC vs Mac) to get a Find window.
The Find window will remain visible until you close it. Keep hitting Find Next until you get to the item you were seeking.
Using the What's Up Pivot
The What's Up Pivot spreadsheet has 2 tabs - one called Search by Item, the other called Search by Module. Both include directions, and provide the same info as you can find above.
Search by Item
Applying Info from the Spreadsheet to Your Staff Member
Making changes to your team member permissions is easy. You will need access to the ADMIN area, and have access to staff permissions. Once you are on the staff permissions page, just find the permission group, and the correct box to tick within that group. Do this for as many boxes listed in the spreadsheet to remove or add the permissions. In the example above for Add a Schedule, there are 6 places you'll need to make sure are selected under the Tasks permission group.
And as in most areas of fp. you'll want to be sure to hit the Submit button when done.
